| Gurdward GNP Minor | 2 |
| CTK Blues | 2 |
The 12th game of the season was away at high flying Gurdwara GNP Minor.
With Cole still unavailable with a broken hand, Kings lined up in a new formation. Things started superbly with a goal inside the first two minutes. A ball was played upfront to Sam who held the ball up with his back to goal before passing back to Reece Clarke in midfield who played a superb sweeping ball to Riley on the left wing. He strode into the area and side footed past the GNP keeper into the bottom corner for his first goal for the club.
With just 5 minutes on the clock Kings went further ahead. The ball was again played into Sam who switched it out wide to Riley. His cross was cleared in the area but Reece Edwards pounced to crash his shot past the keeper to make it 2-0.
GNP started to get back into the game as Kings went in search of a third. With our midfield pushing forward it often left gaps at the back, however the defence held up well with Kurun in particular having a good game. Lewis was also a steadying influence sitting infront of the back four, limiting GNP to only a few long range efforts.
Kings continued to have the better chances though with Callum also having one of his better games on the right hand side of midfield.
Just before half time, a long ball from GNP caught the Kings' defence out. Aaron came out of his goal and caught the GNP striker just outside the area and the referee awarded a free kick. The ball was heading towards the top corner but Aaron managed to get his hands on it pushing it against the post, before a GNP player on hand to follow in the loose ball and make the half time score 2-1.
GNP started the second half strongly but Kings defended superbly. However, they failed to clear a ball from the left back position resulting in a corner. The corner was cleared to the edge of the box but was not closed down and the GNP player fired in through a group of players to level the game.
GNP nearly took the lead when another long range effort bounced awkwardly in front of Aaron. His fumble hit the post but was on hand to save at the feet of the GNP forward.
Kings should of taken the lead when Josh fired in a shot from outside the area. It deflected off a GNP player through to Sam who slotted past the keeper. However the GNP assistant referee had his flag up for offside.
Luke also had probably one of the best strikes of the match, when the Kings were awarded a free kick on the left side of GNP's half. Luke struck the shot sweetly from 30yards out and was aiming for the top left hand corner of the goal, but somehow the tall GNP goalie managed to get his fingers to it, to deny the Kings again.
Both teams continued to have chances and Kings had late penalty shouts through Sam and Reece Edwards.
The whistle blew with Kings' first draw of the season finishing 2-2.
Well done boys.
